The Cerro Blanco Protected Forest is home to fascinating native plants and wildlife. Discover its incredible nature on this day trip from Guayaquil.
Cerro Blanco Forest Day Trip
At the designated time, we'll meet at Avenida Presidente Isidro Ayora, very close to Guayaquil airport, and board a minibus that will take us to the Cerro Blanco Protected Forest. The journey will take us 25 minutes.
Once in the forest, we'll head onto the Howler Monkey Trail (sendero Mono Aullador), a continuation of the Higuerón Trail, which leads directly to the mountain summit. During this 4- to 5-hour hike, we'll follow marked paths that allow us to discover tropical plant species and learn to identify timber trees such as guayacanes and peniches.
Along the way, we'll keep an eye out for the more than 240 exotic bird varieties recorded in Cerro Blanco, including the endangered species that make this area a protected zone. We may also spot other Ecuadorian wildlife, such as iguanas, while enjoying panoramic views from the higher elevations on the eastern side of the forest.
After completing this guided nature hike, we'll return to the vehicle and head back to Guayaquil, where the activity will conclude 6 hours after it began.
